Rick Wapinsky

Guitarist and vocalist Rick Wapinsky is originally from Cressona, PA. Rick wanted to be a drummer but his dad persuaded him to take up a "quieter" instrument. He took guitar lessons for four years and was in his first band at the age of twelve. Rick played in Pottsville, PA area bands during high school then joined the immensely popular "V.I.P.'S" in late 1979 while attending college in Williamsport. The drummer for that  band was none other but our own Dave DeCapria!

In early 1987 Rick relocated to California to work in restaurant management. He returned to Pennsylvania in 1995 and a career change allowed Rick to perform after a 15-year hiatus. TOP SHELF was formed in 2006.

Rick's influences include The Beatles, The Eagles and guitar heroes George Benson, Robben Ford, Brian Setzer, Neal Schon, Jeff Beck, and the late blues legends Stevie Ray Vaughan and Gary Moore.
